Blind Speed Spell is a fun classroom board game where students are blindfolded and asked to write out words on the whiteboard. It is a good way for them to practice spelling, learn new vocabulary and have fun in the ESL classroom.
Method:
Put students in either a group or in pairs with a partner. They then come to the front of 1the class in pairs, where each team receives a board marker. The ones with the markers have to close their eyes or preferably get blindfolded.
The partner then spins them around three times and directs them to the whiteboard. A vocabulary word is then called out a word that the blindfolded students have to write the word down.
The first one to complete the word correctly spelled and in a readable manner wins a point.
It’s a simple but fun spelling board game.
